Denver Info

TIME FOR SOME DENVER MYTH BUSTERS...

Some people have some... preconceived ideas about Denver.  They think Colorado > skiing > three feet of snow.  People think we are up in the mountains, rural, with no public transportation.  We assure you, that's not the case!

ABOUT DENVER

The Denver Metro area has over three million people, busses, shuttles, a light rail, Lyft, Uber, lots of AirBnbs, and plenty of things to do, both in the city and in the foothills which are about 30-45 minutes away.  We are on the plains, just before the Rocky Mountains.  We are CO's capital, have our own football team, and the US Mint is here.  We are NOT rural! 😉

ABOUT BOULDER

Boulder, CO where Denver Rope Meeting will be held, is about 30 minutes from downtown Denver.  From Denver International Airport (which is admittedly an ungodly distance from the city, about 30 mins), there are busses and shuttles to get you to Boulder.

Boulder is a very walkable college town right on the edge of the Rocky Mountain Foothills, full of cute shops on Pearl St, delicious restaurants, parks, and open spaces.  Boulder Circus Center on the north outskirts of town.  We are looking into getting rental bikes from Lime stationed at Rope Meet for those who want to grab something to eat or bike around town.

ABOUT SNOW

Denver is in the Top 20 Sunniest Cities in the US. Our weather tends to be a tad... bipolar.  The phrase here is "if you don't like the weather, wait an hour and it'll change."  While we can definitely get snow in February, we can also have 60 degree days as well.  And even if it snows or is cold, it's usually sunny so it doesn't feel THAT cold.

So while we will never promise it WON'T snow (kiss of death), we wanted to let you know that as a whole, Denver doesn't get too snowy before end of March / beginning of April.

Denver International Airport is a hub for many airlines, so getting here should be relatively easy.

Boulder is about 30-45 minutes west of Denver depending on traffic.  There is also a convenient bus from DIA to Boulder that runs regularly.

Locals and AirBnbs

Boulder, CO (30-45 mins west of Denver) has many super cute AirBnbs and it's a very walkable and bike-able city (although Boulder Circus Center is in North Boulder not the downtown area).

Use our FORUM to coordinate AirBnb's or maybe even find a local rope artist who can host you!
